Workshops were determined by participant interests that are surveyed during the registration process.

Also included were meals consisting of locally grown foods, educator awards to recognize excellence in sustainable agriculture education, area to display program and class materials, and open areas in which to network throughout the conference.

  • ISU Student Organic Farm (Student-run farm on the ISU Horticulture Station) & Mustard Seed Farm (Farm and CSA motivated by social justice and community involvement)
  • Marshelltown Community College Farm (A farm integrating new farmers including immigrants through education and hands-on experience) & programs
  • Griffieons (Located at the edge of a quickly-growing suburb and in the process of bringing the next generation into the operation. Listen to the NPR feature on this innovative farm.)
  • Gilbert Farm (Diversified dairy, pastured pork, and grain operation adjusting their farm to continue their long dairy tradition)
